Meet Danie Louw, well known Appaloosa breeder, sheep farmer,Arabian breeder and a distributor of STRIDE products in the southern Free State. At over 2 meters tall it is no wonder that Danie stands out in a crowd.

Growing up the son of a prominent sheep farmer in the Tromsburg district, Danie grew up with the love of horses.

Horses make up a great deal of the operation on his farm, and being a "breeder" by nature it was just a matter of time before he would start up a breeding facility on his farm. His Perdeberg Appaloosa stud is one of the finest and best known studs in South Africa, setting the standard for many other breeders.

He has also been instrumental in the field testing of some of the great STRIDE products and has serviced many fellow riders in his area with both products and advice.

In 2002 Danie became interested in the sport of endurance racing and after competing for a few years he started concentrating more on the breeding and training of endurance horses using the trusted and proven old English/Crabbet bloodlines.

In the same year the SA team barely lost to Namibia in Walvis Bay and also came close to beating them at the same venue in 2011, but at the 2012 SAIC held at Aldam the South Africans enjoyed a resounding victory over their rivals. Danie has been able to select a very consistent group of riders since taking charge and this team has developed into a very competitive and competent group of riders.

During the 2012 Fauresmith ride Danie not only managed the SA team to another victory, but he also entered 3 of his own horses, bred and trained by him at his Perdeberg stud. Not only did all three of his horses complete the race, but two of them raced to Top 10 honors in their various categories.

Perdeberg Bunty was placed 7th in the Light Weight division, and the Standard Weight category, Perdeberg Survivor, ridden by his trusted rider Samson Majika came home in the 5th position. This combination has received many "Best condition" awards, too many victories to mention and at the Colesberg ride of 2011 they set a new course record.

Danie uses a wide range of STRIDE products and is always willing to share his experiences with fellow competitors. If asked what his secret was, Danie is quick to point out that he has NO secrets!!! "Good feed, good training, good riders, good grooms and good supplements ": Danie always maintains.

We at STRIDE honor and thank another client, friend and associate for his loyal support through the years. Your achievements are recognized and respected by all.

In 2010 Danie was appointed as the SA heavy Weight team manager by ERASA. His first outing in this position proved very successful, when his team beat the mighty Namibian Heavy Weight team at the 2010 SAIC held in Sweizer-Reneke. The Namibians have always been seen as SA's nemesis, but this has been
